UV works as a chlorine/chemical replacement in part or completely for your pool or spa. The correct UV dose/ lamp UV output is determined by pool water clarity and volume. When used in pools and spa’s, UV dosage prevents moulds, bacteria, cysts and viruses from multiplying. This means that; you require less to no chlorine, you enjoy a safe and clean pool with no bacteria buildup.
Chlorine in pools and spa’s that come into contact with organic matter like skin, leaves, sweat and urine, produce foul smelling chloramines. Swimmers in chlorinated pools experience burning eyes, skin and nasal issues.
Most of our customers are able to reduce chemical use from 80 to 100%. It has to be appreciated that UV is only effective whilst your pool is circulating the water. As it circulates the water flows through the UV Chamber and is exposed to the intense UV light that sterilises any bacteria present.
The ideal UV pool kit is 1 or 2 watts dosage per 1000 litres. Therefore;
- • A 1500 litre spa pool would require 3 watts.
- • A 30,000 to 60,000 litre pool would require 40 to 80 watts.
- • Larger pools require 160 to 200 watts.
We customise systems to fit into pool sheds, garages or outside. We have systems available with covers. The UV chamber is installed after the pump so that the pool water receives a new dosage each time water is recirculated.
