Aucklands silt crisis

Wednesday, March 15, 2017 2:25:18 PM Pacific/Auckland

WaterCare 'threat'. Reduce consumption or we will have to ration! Not their fault, as silts in the water are due to heavy rain BUT Do you drink their water straight out of the street pipe? If Yes then WHY?Read More

WaterCare Warning

Tuesday, March 14, 2017 4:10:27 PM Pacific/Auckland

How about controlling your own fate, by having your own filter system? Other wise you are relying on others to save 20 liters a day, OR ELSE you will have to BOIL IT!

All this rain has 'swamped' their filtration / treatment facilities with too much silt washed into the reservoirs by deluges of rain.

Kaikoura impact disrupts bores

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 3:43:13 PM Pacific/Auckland

Earthquakes affect ground water far away from the source. Raglan and Coromandel bores go brown.

We have customers reporting brown water in their bores, that takes days to clear up. Do you have a filter system ?

Havelock contamination

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 3:41:10 PM Pacific/Auckland

So we now know the truth...months later...after vested interest groups have tried to deflect...

It turns out that a sheep paddock is the culprit. Runoff during a rain storm flushed poop down ground cracks into the underground water system. This system flows like a river. Right past take off points for the town water.

Wow! we have a Government that wants us to be able to swim! Great news! Yeah Right. I can see another Tui billboard.

So the Government has the farmers applauding. That rings alarm bells to us townies. How did they achieve that?

Septic discharges

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 1:09:08 PM Pacific/Auckland

So do you (still) pump out your bacteria laden septic tank water 'straight into the land/stream? With all the screams about 'dairy cow poo and wee' in our 'clean green rivers', are you a polluter?

Yes you might have a modern waste water treatment system which works well. Meaning the solids have been munched up by the bacteria, so that you are pumping out 'just water'. So far so good. BUT this water contains some of the highest concentrations of bacteria possible. And because the Council 'lets you' this bacteria laden water migrates through the soil and into your neighbours river water. Well?

Regulations

Wednesday, March 8, 2017 1:05:12 PM Pacific/Auckland

Councils are really slow to get tough. Is getting compliance without having to treat waste water Good or bad?

There are many areas in New Zealand, and the Pacific, that have great difficulty getting compliance to build on, or use, land because of strict council requirements. Land, air and water contamination is becoming the big issue even in the marine industry.

Under bench filters

Tuesday, March 7, 2017 11:47:00 AM Pacific/Auckland

A Statement from one of our customers who lives in Waihi - using Tank water - "If you have a filter under the sink in the kitchen and you think you are safe – think again!".

After spending a week in Waikato Hospital we found our water was very high in E Coli and our whole house was unprotected, i.e. this infected water we cleaned our teeth with, showered, bathed with, filled the jug for a cuppa, wash the dishes in the dishwasher, laundered our cloths, towels, tea towels, face cloths and we were spreading these germs and bacteria.

NOTE: The water in the dishwasher is not hot enough to kill all harmful bacteria.
